State Publications Contest

This year, as in years past, there will be a contest for all State Newsletters. Newsletters are a great way to keep everyone across the state connected and informed about all of your state and local events.  Newsletters come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and can include a variety of information. In addition to keeping JCLers informed, publications are helpful publicity tools that help JCL stay connected with the community.

If your state would like help starting or improving a newsletter, please feel free to contact the National Editor, Caitlin  Johnston.  In addition, all state editors and other individuals interested in publications are encouraged to participate in the online Editor forum on the NJCL Forums.

Submissions for the State Publication Contest must be student produced and include the name of the editor. Each state must submit at least two issues of a publication to be eligible.  Send each issue to the National  Editor as soon as an issue is printed:

  Judging Criteria:
choice of articles (20 points)
presentation of articles (20 points)
effectiveness of writing (20 points)
effectiveness of layout (25 points)
 stylistic consistency (10 points)
and issues sent to Editor (5 points)
