NJCL Certamen Books

JCL chapters can now purchase questions used in previous NJCL Certamen competitions.   A collection of questions are available in two books (1986-1990 and 1991-1995) each containing over 4000 questions and including five rounds in each of the three levels of competition (Novice, Lower, and Upper).

Each round includes:

• twenty toss-ups, with two bonuses per toss-up

• a balance of questions from the areas of grammar, vocabulary, derivatives, history, life and customs, mythology, mottoes, reading comprehension, plus Hellenics and literature (upper level only)

• extra questions to be used as tiebreakers

Proceeds from the sale of these questions will be used to donate Certamen machines to states that have limited access to these machines.  For more details on this project, see the on-line application form or contact the NJCL Certamen Chair.

Order your set of questions directly from the NJCL Office by using the on-line order form or writing to the address below.  The books cost $25.00 each, which includes shipping and handling, with checks or money orders payable to NJCL.  When ordering, be sure to specify which volume you to purchase and in what quantity.
