National Classical Etymology Exam Committee

In order to publish the best exam possible, the NCEE uses a select committee of talented and dedicated volunteers with decades of experience in education. Their duties include:

Writing and editing the initial set of questions

Maintaining a continuity of the categories and questions between multiple years of the exam.

Ensuring that the difficulty level of the questions is appropriate for all students

Re-examining the finalized set of questions for any online problems

Testing the final exam on multiple systems to ensure the proper functionality of the digital format for teachers, sponsors, and students

Coordinating with participating teachers, school administrators, and students

Mailing out awards and medals to winning participants

The following (in no particular order) are members of this year's NCEE Committee:

James Greenwald

Jim Greenwald taught Latin for over 40 years at Marquette High in Milwaukee, has attended NJCL conventions since 1978, and has written numerous NJCL Latin and Greek Derivatives tests. He is also the author of the free Latin and Greek derivative dictionaries, found on the preparation page, and which he has graciously donated for students and teachers to use.
