National Roman Civilization Exam Committee

In order to publish the best exam possible, the NRCE uses a select committee of talented and dedicated volunteers with decades of experience in education. Their duties include:

Writing and editing the initial set of questions

Maintaining a continuity of the categories and questions between multiple years of the exam.

Ensuring that the difficulty level of the questions is appropriate for all students

Re-examining the finalized set of questions for any online problems

Testing the final exam on multiple systems to ensure the proper functionality of the digital format for teachers, sponsors, and students

Coordinating with participating teachers, school administrators, and students

Mailing out awards and medals to winning participants

Generosa Sangco-Jackson

Generosa Sangco-Jackson is entering her 2nd year of teaching Latin and Greek full-time at Oak Hall School in Gainesville, FL. She has been attending NJCL conventions since the end of her freshman year of high school in 1996. Generosa currently serves as the FJCL Certamen Chair and is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Florida.

About the Medals

The medals that are awarded for the NRCE have been created by students for students

The current look of the NRCE medals was designed by Rachel Song of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, in 2012.
